How to Have Another Record Week In Your Business

  1. Identify your purpose. If you are in business or in a professional practice to just to “make money” then good luck. Look at any successful business on the planet. Walmart, Target, Ford, etc. It became successful because it fixed a problem, enhanced lives, or did something better or cheaper than a competitor. Making money is the by-product of a good business not the reason to enter the business. Your purpose, mission and vision will help you identify your reason for getting up everyday and staying with your business even when things get rough. Your action step is to create your vision, mission, and purpose statements.
  2. A goal by definition is a wish or a dream with a timeline around it and appropriate action steps. I want to earn $5 million dollars this year is a wish not a goal. So many clients when they first begin coaching with me make this mistake which costs them tremendous opportunity. Every September through December we go through a formal goal setting process. The process leaves our clients with a literal 365 day marketing calendar that, if the action steps are actually done; it is virtually impossible not to grow your business or practice. Goals can be created anytime of the year, however make September-December your new ritual going forward. Your action step is to create meaningful goals complete with timelines and action steps.
  3. Your unique value proposition (UVP) is what separates you from every other similar business or practice. It is why people will want to give YOU their hard-earned money. Our clients learn early on how to create a UVP and use it effectively in all of their marketing campaigns. Your action step is to create your UVP.
  4. Throwing crap up aganst the wall and hoping something will stick is tactical-based marketing. The problem is tactical-based marketing hasn’t been effective since the late 1990’s. A strategist will slaughter a tactition every single time. Our clients learn the art and science of strategic-based marketing and their growth proves it. Your action step is to create a minimum of five stategic-based campaigns.
  5. Knowing what marketing techniques work in which part of the economic cycle is imperative to your spending your marketing dollars wisely; and getting a great return on investment. The buying funnel has been around since the late 1800’s. The buying funnel is based on economic cycles not guesswork. When you understand how to use the buying funnel you will waste fewer marketing dollars and boost your returns. Your action step is learn more about the buying funnel and how it can be applied to your marketing strategies.
